I really was voted Most Talkative
I’m not sure if they still give out superlatives in high school—it seems like the type of thing the youths wouldn’t stand for anymore—but back in my day, my classmates voted me Most Talkative. And you know what? They were right. So I decided to launch a newsletter of my own, where I can share all my hot, lukewarm, and ice-cold takes, one email into your inbox at a time.
Ruminations on fashion? Obviously.
Recaps of a television series that’s over a decade old? You got it, dude.
Recommendations for books, movies, clothing, and more? Get those credit cards ready!
References to ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT at least once a month? Oh, most definitely.
Let’s have fun!
Paid versus Free
Right now, VOTED MOST POPULAR will be free while I figure out the shape of things to come. But writing these newsletters takes time, and as a freelancer, time is definitely money! So, at some point down the road, I will be moving to a paid model. (I will, of course, give notice when that switch is coming.)
Paid subscriptions are a way of compensating me for the time I put into crafting each issue, as well as my shared expertise; paid subscriptions are also a great way to help me grow this newsletter into a robust corner of the fashion internet. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate the vote of confidence that your $5 monthly subscription gives me. (And, if you’re in the biz, this totally counts as a tax write-off or business expense.)
Regardless, I’m happy to have you here and I hope you’ll enjoy having VOTED MOST TALKATIVE in your inbox!
And who am I?
Hi there! My name is Tyler McCall, and I’m a freelance writer and editor with over a decade of experience in the fashion industry. In my past life as a full-timer, I was the editor-in-chief of Fashionista.com, the place I called my professional home for most of my time in New York. I have also featured in a staggering amount of fashion week pictures sitting second row behind various fashion personas like Hailey Bieber, Blake Lively, and one pretty impressive photobomb of a Kate Hudson and Nicole Kidman selfie.
These days, I’m bopping around doing my own thing, still covering the world of fashion but branching out into celebrity and pop culture reporting, too. My byline has appeared in Elle, Town & Country, VanityFair.com, GQ.com, and more; you can find samples of my writing over at my website.
