Hello friends, and welcome to another hyperfixation report!
I love doing these because themes tend to pop up as I collect them. It’s fairly obvious, given the time of year, but right now I’m feeling all things celebratory and festive. Time to be jolly and joyous, my bitches!!!! Pile on the sparkle!!!
(and there are still 10 days til Christmas for any gifting needs 😇)
1) JW Anderson x Pleasing
Remember when I said I wished more people were making long-sleeved merch? Well, dreams DO come true! JW Anderson did a cute lil line of merch with Harry Styles’s brand Pleasing, including this graphic tee with metallic star balloons. I love her.
2) RibbitRhettsMuppets
Ribbit Rhett is, per his Instagram bio, the “Holder of Guinness Book World Record for Largest Muppet memorabilia collection” – to which I say, hell yea, brother. I love the Muppets, so he is a delightful follow, posting his oftentimes rare Muppet merch and memorabilia for all to enjoy. He was an instant follow for me and I think he should be for you too if you are someone who likes to feel joy.
3) These Valentino flats
Real tears may have sprung to my eyes when I saw these Valentino flats on Net-a-Porter. They’re so beautiful, so perfect, so me…so…$3000. I can’t justify that in my tax bracket, and believe me, I tried, but that won’t stop me from lusting after them and imagining all the little outfits I could put together with them.
4) Mandy Lee’s wedding heels
When
shared that she was getting married, I knew whatever she wore would be wildly inspiring; Mandy has such a strong sense of personal style, as well as incredible taste, so I was sure her take on “bridal” would be fun. And I was right! She wore a one-of-a-kind Simone Rocha dress, which, 🤯, pairing it with these sculptural heels from Tory Burch. The pierced pump has been getting all the shine this season, but I love the quirky, oddly-sensual detailing at the peep toe.5) Tory Burch’s Embellished Sweaters
That sent me down a Tory Burch hole straight to this embellished cardigan. I can imagine dressing it up for the holidays but also wearing it well into winter with more casual stuff. Actually, imagine it slung over that JW Anderson x Pleasing tee…
6) Swarovski’s “Millenia” Collection
Speaking of sparkle, I love the big, chunky pieces from Swarovski’s Millenia collection – like this collar piece. At $650, the bang-for-buck quality is there, and ideally, I’d have a whole mess of necklaces in different sizes to pile together for a maximalist vibe.
7) This TCM promo
From the moment Ben Mankiewicz says, “Hey besties, it’s your favorite nepo baby,” I am LOCKED IN. This video is sincerely so funny that I hope they do an entire series of Gen Z-written descriptions of classic Hollywood movies. Imagine GONE WITH THE WIND or CITIZEN KANE…beautiful.
8) Variety’s Actors on Actors
And speaking of Hollywood, Variety’s Actors on Actors series has become one of my most anticipated moments of awards season. I wait with baited breath to see what pairings they’ll come up with and I watch every single video as they drop. It tickles the part of my brain that loves hearing people talk about their craft in a way they only really get to do with other people in their field.
9) A dramatic winter coat
Cold temperatures have finally descended over the city, and while I’m definitely all set on coats, I can’t help but keep a roving eye on new options. Can you believe I don’t have a black coat? I know, they’re kicking me out of New York as I speak. Anyway, the cape on this Dôen style would fulfill all my Samantha Parkington dreams. (iykyk)
10) A supermodel nightgown
Double Dôen! I can’t remember the last time I wore a nightgown – I am a big toss-and-turner, which means they just get all wrenched up around my waist in a way that drives me insane – but god, how dreamy is this style from Dôen in collaboration with Kaia Gerber’s book club Library Science? Big VIRGIN SUICIDES vibes (complimentary).
